I just came back from 5 day 4 nights star cruise holiday with my husband. Our ship went to Penang and Phuket. The first time my husband and I went to these two locations.
At Phuket, we went to their one of the famous buddist temple, Wat Chalong. Then we took elephant drive, watch monkey and elephant shows at Phuket night safari. After that we proceed to a souvenir shop where both us bought a 925 gem stone rings. Patong beach is our last stop at Phuket day tour and they have alot of stalls selling T-shirst, slippers, hats, etc. The 7 hrs day trips cost us about $70 per person.
Reaching Penang, we went to two (2) temples which is Kek Lok Si and Wat Chayamankalaram. Then our day tour guide brought us to the local products shop where we bought quite few eating stuff back for our family. The last stop is at Gurney plaza where we do not have time shop as they only stop for 1 hr for us to take our dinner before proceed back to star cruise. The 4 hrs day trips cost about $30 per person.
Quite a nice trip for us as we first time took elephant drive and we did found it quite interesting. However, I found that the onboard service for this cruise not too good to local travellers. And their staff almost is from overseas where you asked them question in English, they seem not understand and will need us to repeat in Chinese. Worst of all, when their mood not good or not enough sleep I guess, they will give you a bad face. Suggest the cruise should train them!
